PDC World Darts

PDC boasts excellent gamplay and is in my opinion the main selling point for the game. Players can opt to take a particular player through a whole season, participating in all the main events of the PDC calendar. Alternatively players can create their own character and start from scratch, working their way up to the number one rank spot. The game itself is one of those which is easy to pick up but hard to master. It only takes a few throws of the dart to get up to speed but to start hitting 180's or the maximum "9 dart finish" takes lots of practice (and at times also patience!).

The controls play a big part in this as they are pretty basic but require split second accuracy to master the perfect shot. This ensures that the game never becomes too easy and is always a challenge up till the final rounds of a tournament.

When playing the game at the higher difficulty you are required to make the shot without having any gauge to tell you the amount of power and accuracy of the shot you have made. This will definitely make the game far more challenging for those who like a bit more of a challenge and who find the regular game a little easy.

Personally I feel the game itself is best played with friends. The main highlight can be the "pressure shots" to win a leg or a downloadable game. This is much more entertaining when played with a room full of pals.

That doesn't necessarily mean that the single player options are inferior. On the contrary the single player games can be just as entertaining and nail-biting as the multiplayer, especially when you start to reach the latter stages of the major tournaments and the difficulty level raises.
